The Beechworth to Bright Bike Trail takes you along the most beautiful part of the Murray to Mountains Rail Trail - one of the most well known bike Victoria trails.
It travels right through the Victorian Alps - breathtaking scenery and a real sense of being in nature and away from it all. It is a three day/two night escape to the gorgeous Ovens Valley region of north east Victoria.
You will cover around 90 km of rail trail, exploring the historical towns of Beechworth and Bright, and indulging in all the delights in between. The route is a pleasure to ride, and without steep climbs.
Bright is famous for its autumn foliage - the most colourful autumn leaves in Victoria - but of course also gorgeous during spring, summe, autumn and even winter. Winters are beautiful but can get cold.
Highlights of this trip include fine food, spectacular scenery, wineries, rivers, mazes, goldfields, local hospitality and daily wellness workshops. All expenses, transportation from Melbourne, and trail support are included.
The Lilidale to Warburton trail takes you along another well-known bike Victoria rail trail. Taking off from Lilidale, the trail takes you on a gentle rise up to Mount Evelin and from there on a downhill ride past a railroad carriage transformed into a café.
It then becomes relatively flat through rural areas, forests and billabongs. It ends in Warburton, where the Yarra is most beautiful nestled in the forested hills. This is where you find unique craft shops, a famous ice cream shop, coffee and some restaurants.
The tour is a two-day all expenses covered tour along the Warburton rail trail. It takes the 35kms each way slowly with plenty of stops to eat, drink and taking in the beautiful scenery.
You get to stay in a serene and expansive riverside property a short distance outside Warburton with lovely facilities including an outdoor spa. Wellness workshops, good food and rest make this a weekend of true indulgence. Full support is included.
There are other rail trails in Victoria, but above two are best set up for a lovely weekend or holiday away - they have attracted coffee shops and great accommodation options on either end and along the way.
